Hello all.
Last night I brought home a 2 month old turkey. She had 9 siblings and looked a bit roughed up when she came to us. Since we have gotten her home I have not seen her eat and she is barely drinking. She has strong legs but she doesn't stand or walk around. She just lays down and sleeps quite a bit.

Today was started her on nurtadrench to get her some additional electrolytes and vitamins and I'm praying this helps.

Does anyone has any other suggestions on how to help her? Is this a serious illness or could she just be lonely without other turkeys? (She will be going in with our 5 month old once she gets stronger)

Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, not sure what it is but when my turkeys are droopy or sick I give them a bit of cayenne pepper and it greatly improves their appetite and has cured coccidiosis. Hopefully someone else will chime in with a bit more knowledge, oh and welcome to BYC!

You may want to post over in Emergencys. They are very helpful.
How is she doing?

Thank you! I have her some cayenne pepper last night in her water and she didn't drink a bit of it. With that and the nurtaquench I'm hoping she perks up a little. She just seems sleepy

She could be unwell or just stressed, you should get it some company either another turkey or a chick, turkeys don't do well with change or being alone, they really bond with their siblings, and it may still need some heat.

Thank you. I have an older turkey who is very sweet that I can let her spend some time with
