I have noticed her comb has been looking "dry". The black spot has beet there for approximately 1-2 weeks. She has not had any others. She is 3 4 y/o Black Copper Maran...a new hen for me and integrating her has not gone real well. They seemed to be reaching a harmony for a few days, but then it seemed they regressed. In fact she didnt even make it into the hen house last night. The other 3 dominate the food so I was thinking she might be dehydrated hence the dry appearance of her comb. I also noticed yesterday she has cecal worms. I recently rid my other 3 of those with Rooster Booster which they still get. I suspect she is not getting enough and that's why she has them now. I have some panacur but not sure of dosage. She is also in Molt. Egg production has ceased for 3 weeks. Any advice for me?? Thank you in advance!
 
Comb will always get shriveled, pale and dry when in molt or not laying for other reasons.

The only thing I would do is provide more food and water stations in various locations so you know she's eating and drinking.
I once had a flock of roosters and only one food and water station. I didn't realize they weren't letting him eat till he died.
 
x2 on putting up multiple feeders and waterers. That way there's a better chance she'll be able to get what she needs.

Good luck, integration can be a tricky process.
 
Welcome to Backyard chickens. I would put your worst offenders in crates for a few days to see if that sets them back a peg or two in the pecking order. If they continue to harass the next hen - get them all pinless peepers. It prevents the birds from seeing straight ahead, so throws them off aim. I also think they will be focusing on the peepers and may even forget about the new hen. Do make sure they are placed where she can find feed and water away from the brutes. Looks like she could use good coating of vaseline on her scaly legs.

Really you aren't cursed, we hear many, stories like yours.
 
I threw the pic of her legs up on a whim. I noticed her lifting scales near her feet, but in the area of her outer toe feathers. I could couldn't find mites on her anywhere, so wasnt sure if this is relatuve to molt or stress or what! Im glad you commented on them! I will do that tomorrow! On a side. I DID remove the 2 meanest hens for a week and a half but they could still see and hear each other. I left my least aggressive in with her. When I put them back in they were still mean but not as mean. They seemed to do bettwr by weeks end but then started getting meaner about a week ago. Night time was and continues to be the worst. She has to fight her way into the henhouse every night! Some days are worse than others. I have never heard of peepers. I will have to find some I guess! Again thank you so much for the info!!
 
don't believe you are cursed, just really frustrated. we all get there at times. I just lost 12 duck eggs because of new incubator mishap, and mother of eggs fell victom to dog play. hang in there, good times are worth the aggravation and disappointing times.
