Hello all,

Just thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself. I'm in the US enjoying another warm fall day. My flock consists of my hubby, 3 cats, 4 bantum hens, 3 black hens, 3 Pekin ducks, 1 Saxony drake, 1 Saxony duck, 2 female Chinese geese. The waterfowl are in a large area outside my window where I have the joy of watching them all day long. I'm disabled but ambulatory so taking care of them is very therapeutic.

I currently have a goose that is ill and have spent the last 4 days researching. Seems that I have found most (almost all really) of the helpful information here on BYC. I thought it would be wise to join the forum since I do have questions I'm not finding answers for and will likely have more. I hope to also provide information and answers to questions to others as I'm not new to raising animals/livestock but I have recently discovered that I obviously have not seen everything

.

I'll post my questions on the appropriate site when I have a moment of extra time. Until then I need to get back to tending to poor Diamond (name of the sick goose).

Just want to also thank EVERYONE for putting together this vast source of avian information and humor.

I like the variety of your flock! I hope Diamond is better soon, glad BYC has been helpful toward that.

Make yourself at home here and thanks for joining us!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm a chicken person and don't know a lot about geese, but you can post on our Geese section in the forum at the top of the page and take advantage of our goose experts there. I hope Diamond recovers soon. If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is lots of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

Welcome to Backyard chickens. Is Diamond exhibiting any behaviors that have you concerned? You could post in full detail at "emergencies, diseases, injuries, cures," thread.
