So today I went and checked on the eggs my silkie hen was sitting on and was expecting a pip, which there was, but upon observing the chick through the pip which was big enough to look like an attempt at zip, I noticed what looked like a dried glob of blood on the chick's beak. I've seen and heard how chicks hatch, and this one seems odd to me. It's peeping as if it's in pain and I'm very nervous! Should I help the little guy out or is this normal?
