Hi all have a farm in Texas and just restarted a flock of NH Reds, have been raising chickens since 7 yrs old in 4-H .I am building a totally recycled wood and metal coop from nesting boxes to roosts its all wood would have been thrown away, she will need a new roof next year but for now it will be fine. Will be posting pics of chicken run and coop shortly.A guy gave me 2 complete 10 x 10 dog kennels, another guy gave me 3 rolls of hog wire so my whole chicken run costs $0.00 you gotta love it, cant wait for fresh yard eggs again.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. Which part of Texas are you from? My wife and I were both born in the great state of Texas.) If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is lots of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

That's great you're able to put together a coop from recycled materials. We've pretty much done the same with ours and it really can save some big $.

Love the goat and donkey avatar!
