3 or 4 year old rooster is it wry neck?

I don't know how well you can see it in these pictures but my Americauana rooster just suddenly can't hold his head up. His neck & head are completely twisted so that his head is upside down. His neck is very floppy. He was fine this morning. but then this evening he was lying on the floor of his coop instead of being on the roost. At first I thought the pink spot in the 2nd picture was an injury, but now I think it might just be a swelling area.

Any ideas??
 
I don't know what it could be, but that spot in the second picture does look like some kind of injury to me. I'm no expert, and obviously I'm not there looking at it first hand, but it looks that way to me - especially if it came on that fast. I'm sorry, I wish I had some answer for you, but keep us posted, will you please?

Thanks Blooie. The spot isn't bloody, which is what made me change my mind about it being an injury. I went out and bought liquid vitamin D3 and liquid vitamin E oil. I couldn't find any polysol vitamins. I'm going to try to get the D & E in him and see if that helps. I figure it can't hurt.
 

He took the vitamin D3 & vitamin E eagerly. I feel so bad for him, he can't even get his feet under him because his neck is so twisted. He is so different from the magnificent & proud rooster he was this morning.
He eats egg layer feed with his girls and also has time everyday to free range in a fenced part yard, part wooded area. He has access to plenty of clean water. All of his girls are fine, so I don't think it was anything he might have eaten.
 
I'm not sure if this will help becusse of the age difference but We had a chick born with wry and I was so worried and had no idea what to do. Someone suggested putting save a chick in water to give her the vitamins needed. and with in a few days she was fine. Moving around and neck is back to normal.
 
Get some poultry vitamins containing vitamin E, B1 thiamine, to put in the water. Give him some chopped egg, and try adding some water to his feed, then hold him to help him eat. Using a bowl and holding him in a towel may help. Selenium is also important in wry neck injuries, and can be found in egg, most meats, tuna, salmon, and nuts or seeds. Good luck, and hopefully he will recover from his injury.
