So.. are these roosters?

Would any of the males be a preferred one to keep based on form? Don't have an "eye" at this time and if I will breed and raise offspring want a decent representative of the breed. I know the EE are mixes.. but is there still a type they should be?

That last boy has a tail, I think he's just slow growing the feathers. They'll be lovely come spring, I'll bet.

Silver is dominant over red/gold, so that could influence which bird you keep. Do you like silver or gold birds better?

I like beards and muffs, so I'd pick the bird with the nicer ones. A nice tight pea comb is linked to the blue egg gene, so I'd be going for that as well, to increase my chances of colored egg laying offspring. Otherwise, around here it's all about how nice you are and then how pretty you are. If you aren't nice, to me or the ladies, it's off with your head. And it doesn't matter how nice you are, if you're skanky to look at, off with your head.

I like the black and white too. He carries himself nicely. The one with the funky toes was born fine. First week out in the coop/run he did something and got them broken. His color is unusual.. the black with the brown. Never has had tail feathers like the others. Be neat to see what he matures out to be. The red almost reminds me of some sort of game bird with his stance. He is a leaner bird. Maybe something like RIR in the genetics?? I so wanted the colored eggs.. just going to have one hen instead of four. [pout] .. lol
