In the Brooder
.
Everyone calls me Puma..... I am 41, male and live in Florida.
My young daughters have a program in school where they watch eggs hatch. Then they call the parents and let them know they are know chicken owners....lol. Of course only if you accept. So, I did and built a little brooding cage for them and started on building a coop for them. This was back in May.
Fast forward to today.....I have added 2 more chickens to the ones the school gave us...as they both became Roosters grrrrr. I found a local guy willing to sell me a couple of his hens and I added them to the coop. After a few days of getting used to each other we have a nice 4 chicken flock.
Here are my 2 Roosters. I noticed Rick has a wound on his butt this morning....I think I might have to separate the 2 roosters. I never hear them fighting, but obviously something happened.
And the young Ladies
and my first egg came in last night. I'm not sure which one laid it, but I suspect Black by the change in behavior.
I also have no idea what kind of chickens I have, so any help would be great.
Thanks for having me
