New to Chickens

Hi everyone! I'm kind of new to having backyard chickens and am having issues with feather loss. We live in Ajo, AZ! I'm having fun with chickens but also need advice!

How old are your chickens? If they are not having any symptoms other than feather loss it could just be normal molting.

This is the time of year for molting. Does your coop look like a pillow exploded? Are you birds showing bare spots? Do they look like these:

If that's what's happening, it can be a bit alarming the first time you see them go through it but it's normal. Here's a good article about it in the Learning Center:

If they are molting, added protein will help them re-feather and feel better. Welcome to the Backyard chicken flock, glad you joined us.
