The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

The man across the street used his snow blower to clear my driveway- he did a beautiful job down to the pavement. I was exhausted thinking about the effort it would have
taken me. Natch, I took a nap. Woke up recently to find the blow & drifting, blew most of the snow right back.:tongue

We have had our KitchenAid for probably about 20 years and it is still going strong. Probably does need to be replaced soon though as there is a small rust hole on the bottom of the oven and also it is starting to have some issues. For example, the display went out a couple months ago so it doesn’t display the time anymore when off BUT when it is on, it still displays everything, so idk. Also over the summer we did have an issue with it, showed the temperature/thermometer icon, and was having some issues, but it seems to have fixed itself. So very minor things but still very much functioning after 20 years. But it is pretty dirty/filthy and starting to have minor issues as mentioned so likely needs to go. It is a double oven and in the wall but we rarely ever use the bottom oven. Mostly just for storage now. We did use it some when we first got it and occasionally but very very rarely as we never really have people over anymore ha but they definitely don’t make stuff to last anymore. Probably stopped 10-20 years ago. This oven was probably one of the last made to last things. Kind of don’t want to replace it because it is so good.
If I recall, Sour had a stove that repaired itself a couple of years ago right around Thanksgiving or Christmas. Can't remember if it stayed fixed or not

Yeah, it’s weird how they sometimes repair themselves. Must be when they are right on the verge of needing to be replaced but not quite completely broken.

Shhhhhhhhhhh it's been behaving. The dealer had absolutely no idea what was going on with it. My take is that the ghost did not want company coming here so it/they messed with the stove.

i've been watching this system most of the day, looks like the leading edge is about to VT, the main body is much larger.
So far about an inch though not snowing now. We are at 100% chance of a lot of snow until 4 PM tomorrow. Then it drop to a pretty good chance of another couple of inches.

Only a foot is a lot.
Compared to 6" yes, compared to 18" or 2'+, not so much :D They have upped us into the 12"+ group now. Ice farther south. I'd rather have 3' of snow than 1/2" of ice.

I hate when that happens. And it happens any time the wind is coming from the north across the field. Which will be the case with this storm. And since it is very cold, the snow will be light, the better to blow right back in.

Look at VA, we are getting lots of rain!
That is good, you had hardly any rain last year, need to catch up. :th

If you clear a driveway and then it all blows back, can you just double the inches of snow you shoveled. Or is that cheating?
YES! If you shoveled 6" of snow twice you shoveled 12", doesn't matter if it is the same snow.
