I have a Polish rooster that was attack by another rooster, who we have since got rid of. He has no injurys that i can see. He did have a little red swollen patch on his skull, no blood. This was 3 days ago. We took him in the house and have him seprated from everything. He eats and drinks only when hand fed, and coaxed todo so. One leg seems always bent in, although today he did manage to wrap his claws around my fingers. He has very smelly poop, but does so frequently. Is there a good outcome for this type if injury or am I prolonging the inevitable?

Sounds very stressed, and their could be internal injuries. Make sure he's getting lots of fresh water (if you tube feed, you need to be careful the tube goes down the back of the throat. Too far forward on the tongue and he could aspirate and choke). Vitamins in the water would help. Hard to tell from the description if antibiotics are called for or not.

Scrambled eggs, oat meal are good things when they are weak.

Multi vitamins - cover all bases that way in helping him on the road to recovery (hopefully). Alas a similar thing happened when 2 of my 3.5 month olds decided to have a go at each other and outcome for was not good -one i gave away the same day to be eaten and the other did not make it (that does not mean that yours won't - just sharing).

Good luck

Thank everyone so much for the advice. Kung pao ia still struggling to stand. I tried tube feeding but, he squirmed so much that I was afraid to do more damage. He is starting to hold his head up independantly. He loves the oatmeal and eggs. I have him on vitamins i got from a local feed store. So hopefully it is a start to recovery.

Well, he is still eating(a little) and drinking. He is not walking what so ever. His left side, only wing and leg is completely unresponsive. He's made it a good deal longer than most chickens with this type of injury. I have to start assessing his quality of life if he never gains the ability to walk again.
