Rooster affectionate with ducks aggressive with hens

I have a six month old copper maran rooster who is affectionate with ducks and aggressive with hens. The chickens and ducks are separated. This rooster flies over to visit the ducks. Will this behavior stop on its own?
 
Actually I have never heard of that behavior before. I was going to suggest you post on the ducks thread BUT, it is a rooster with the problem. Are you sure he is a rooster?

I was thinking maybe a hen far down in pecking order, visits the ducks because they don't bully her. I'll be interested in seeing what other responders have to say.

That sounds like the most logical explanation. If "he" really is a roo then he has one heck of an identity crisis!

Drumstick Diva, the chicken that spends time with the ducks is indeed a rooster.
Odd behavior for sure. I hope he becomes more friendly with his gals soon and leaves the ducks alone.
