Saturday, We are going down Friday night and spending the night in a motel. I am guessing 400 birds should have the van nce and ripe by Saturday morning.
I have some to deliver to New Ulm so I know I will make gas money at least.
Hmmmm I am gonna have to see. I could use a few Cochins for broodies... I am gonna see. Doubt my mom will wanna go but I don't need her to bring me places anymore
Does anyone need any hatching eggs? I am gonna have about a week to a week and a halfs worth of Buckeye eggs for sale if anybody wants some. Not gonna sell them on Craigslist because I always get more orders than I can fill... If anyone's interested PM me.
Holm I'm sorry about the loss of that gorgeous cochin Momma. She looks like she was so happy to even raise up dux for you. Those hens get the biggest respect from me.
You know how I was lukewarm about Dixie the Silkie. I was like, "Why did I get her." She hatched her first set of chicks for me and took care of them. That answered my question. It took being a Mom for me to give her respect. And then of course just her feistiness living with standard birds, made me realize how special she was. I look at those broody pics and I have nothing but respect for your bird there and I know she's a big loss. So sorry Holm.
Also Ralphie my sympathy on Bert Jr. That's tough one on your special project. I hope you have a back up boy? I think I read that you did.
Destiny and Ed it sounds like I could Waiver in Waverly. Coop space due to long winters is very much a line towed around here. I've got enough chicken pushers on here taking a bat to my knees. LOL.
Speaking of which: Jerry: I will take two-maybe 3 of those lavs/ or cuckoo lav little girls. I'll let you know before you leave. I know you are running around with prednisone appointments, so what is your tentative leave for the lake date at now?

She was happy raising any type of fluff butts! I have lots of respect for any bird that will sit for 3 or more weeks just for a baby. This old gal raised lots of Ducks, L&M Guineas and chicks. Sure am going to miss her around here. Thanks BC

Sounds like my Chantecler hen! My utmost respect for her. Last year she had around 30 chicks!
I am surprised her feathers didnt turn grey!

I have a new future ruler in the wings he is about 2 months old now. Otherwise, the guy currently stuck with coitus duty will have to become the Bert, but he is not cool enough to be a Bert and is all white. I want to avoid White Berts if possible,
