Well if your brooder is set up you might as well add a few moreShoot! I ordered chicks a week ago. Had I known...
If you lived just up the road, I'd be tempted. I'm already getting 30, though, so I think I need to wait until next spring.Well if your brooder is set up you might as well add a few more
I have the enabler disease...
Ok I went through and found two cracked eggs and removed all my CLB/Dom eggs as they never start anyways. Then I removed a few OE eggs and left all purebred eggs and six EE as some of te eggs were too nice to eat...
PS don’t mind the duck eggs by the tray... They are strictly for eating... I hate hatching Dux as they take too long and I’m impatient...

In case any of you are wondering what it is like in the Banana belt today..
Haha you should see all the Buckeye eggs that are already in the icubator! It helps that I get 3-4 eggs daily from my Quad of hens and Pullets. I kicked the Buckeyes out of the breeding pens for a month until my Toad rooster gets a little older. My next hatch is going to be Orps, Cochins and Sumatras. If I could get 30 of each breed I will be done for the year. I usually have my broodies raise 20+ babies each spring so they can do te rest of the incubating this spring. That is wayyyyyy to many Buckeye Eggs and what is with the ? egg? Giggle Giggle. We had one of those last batch and it turned out to be a Buff Orp.
I am done hatching for the season unless someone (father in law or Uncle) ask for some replacement EE or plain old run of the mill layers. My RIR's have gone on strike and one is molting. My Toads quit over a month ago and still nothing....they have been given the ultimatium.
