Surviving Minnesota!

We are dry dry dry here. We need rain so bad... Not sure what we are going to do if we don’t get some in the next few days... Everything will be shot.. But the cattle and gardens are still looking good...

Hot day here, it 108.... Didn't lose any birds. No rain in almost 2 months again, very dry but we have all of our haying done and we have enough. I went over to elgin to help out some family friends with 2 Bantams, which they learned were Cochin pullets. They are showing poultry for the first time on Friday, a typical small ND County fair so not to much pressure. Not bad birds for hatchery. Tomorrow volleyball practice starts, we yet again have all new coaching staff, I like this coach even better then the last one so hopefully it goes good

Our tomatoes are crap this year. Idiot who cleans our parking lot plowed all the salty snow into the garden area where we plant them:rant. Even weeds arnt doing well. I should tell the guy off. Been tired but had tri church hymn sing service with pot luck to follow. For those who dont know I find melon to be disgusting. They ruined many fruit salads with melon :barnie. I rounded out the day with doing photos for the paper of millville river valley days. Drank beer and watched the kids play in shell corn and a sprinkler. While the DJ was playing. All in all decent day but tiring
You get it!!!!! Melons are disgusting!!

Some large rocks or bricks would help protect your garden from the plow guy ;)

Good morning Erli!
Good morning all!
We are back from camping at Fall Lake (near BWCA) we caught walleye and smallies. Drank some blueberry blonde ale and bobbed for blueberries in the beer. Hot one. Sadie played in the kawishiwi river rapids. Got sore paws. Kids put down their iPhones and all was well!

Earlier last week I watched my friend Shannon’s birds as she went on a family trip. Before we went on ours. Took some pictures of her set up for you all.

BC what a way to fish, beer and berries in hand, feet in water sitting in lawn chair.....

I really dislike people with nice coops.....for the record...(Yes, this includes you Mnchickmom....My chickens live in 1930's style accommodations.

Ladies and Gentlemen, and Voters of the great state of Minnesota (or elsewhere) ....

I am proud to announce the 2018 Pear Harvest is in from Orrock Township. I spend the morning laboring away, without the help of illegal immigrants, like one of my opponents uses, to get it all in.

Here is the bounty from my labors:

Any Ideas on how to best cook/bake/fry/prepare them?
