So last weekend I went to a "trade day" at a local Tractor Supply Co.
When I called, they said it was for local small businesses and homesteaders/farmers to come and set up to sell or trade.

I loaded up a few spare roosters, some fantail pigeons, and an old hen who was being picked on by everyone.

Sold the hen and some fantails, and started thinking..."Wonder if the TSC closest to me does this?"
So I called them :)

They said they wanted to do one, but didn't know if there was any interest.
They were specifically looking at doing something in January some time, although they would be glad to work with me or anyone else on a date. Even offered to let just me set up if I wanted, but I think that a larger crowd would be better.

For those in the area close enough, would you be interested in participating in a swap/sale in Cartersville? It is just a couple miles off of I75.

What time of year would you think this would work best? Spring? When will you have chicks to sell/trade?
I would love to have more info to offer TSC as far as negotiating a time that might work for more people.

I don't live in GA unfortunately; the trade day sounds fantastic!!!!! I may talk to my TSC to see if they would consider doing something like this--I'm sure there would be a lot of interest in my area. Thanks for the great idea!

This post is nearly a month old and I just saw it today...but I would certainly be interested in coming...! I was thinking about talking to the TSC store here in Calhoun about the same.

I'm going to ask for a date in March, so hopefully we won't freeze while sitting outside.
Plus that will give me a chance to have baby chicks :)

I am planning to go to the Trion Livestock auction on Jan 1 at 7pm. So far I haven't brought anything home in my two visits there.

good idea about waiting until march...what do they sell in trion at the auction...

I think any store can choose to do one. But it will take asking them and then networking to get more people there.
Posting here and to some Facebook groups has to help, once you get a date.
