Try clipped or tied up greens, mincing veggies n fruit mixed with feed n meal worms.. mostly don't try new stuff like that till nesting I've seen in them, songbirds, and especially good for hookbill parrot types. Those worked wonderfully for my rescues of those kinds and had them healthy n breeding, greatly increasing intake as nested etc. I also free flew my hookbill types n ring neck/collard/laughing doves.. So know builds strong bodies n minds maybe, as many say that letting letting most out goes wrong n they never return. only fly offs have been new pigeons (they acted as had homing instincts n behavior, no doubt tried to go "home").
