I thought polish chickens were supposed to lay white eggs but I got this today. And the only chickens who haven't been laying is my polish and a easter egger.

Barred rock (been laying light brown), red star (been laying a medium dark brown...lighter color than the fairy egg), black Australorp (same color as barred rock) buff orpington (same color as barred rock), and two easter eggers. Fluffy faced easter egger has been laying green eggs and non fluffy face easter egger hasn't laid yet...which is why I thought the fairy egg came from her or the polish.

When an egg that tiny goes through the part of her system that paints on the brown coating, enough brown for a larger egg hoes on the tiny egg. That makes it much, much darker.

Occassionally when a blue egg layer does that, the egg will be a very intense blue.

I blow these tiny eggs out and put them in a basket. They are a wonderful conversation piece.

Blow the eggs out?
