Star Wars - The Force Awakens *here be spoilers*

I saw it twice and loved it.

I have a fondness for Kylo but I think because he reminds me of Loki. I think they set him up to be weak in this movie and I think by the next one he will do something truly terrifying. I don't think he can be redeemed from what he did but I do think they have set him up to be a good villain. I also thought the actor was very talented.

Kylo needs to stop being so EMO and go full on Darth Vader before he's had his morning coffee.

I'm thinking that we won't find out who Rey's parents are until episode 9. we would probably need that final payoff then.
Idk...by the end of The Force Awakens, it almost seems obvious who her parents are. I think in the 8th one it is going to start off where the last one left off, with Luke claiming to be Rey's father. Even though I'm glad the movie had some cliff hangers, everyone already knows who Rey's parents are--there's only one major character that she could be related to that actually makes sense.

I saw it the weekend it opened and I'll be taking my kid to see it soon. I read on a couple of different sources that Han Solo will be cast in Episode 8 (played by Harrison Ford and rumored to most likely to appear in flash-back scenes), and Max Von Sydow will return as well so we will lean how his character (Lor San Tekka) came to possess the part of the map he had in the beginning of the movie.

The most interesting bit of news I read was that Hayden Christensen is traveling to England to meet with the crew and "train" for his role in Episode 8, which is set to be release May of 2017. The most common rumors and speculation about his role is that there could be an attempt to either resurrect or clone Anakin/Vader.

You're right. I saw part of an interview where director JJ Abrams said Kylo Ren has internal conflict over which side of the force he is on and how he is being influenced to progress toward evil. He said we are intentionally introduced to this character at this point in his developement where as episode 4 introduced Darth Vader as already decidedly the bad guy and later episodes showed Anakin Skywalkers growth and change to the dark side.

I actually think it is possible Han solo and leia could also be Rey's parents. I actually have suspicions that the story will not turn out like we expect, because we've already been surprised a few times!

I also have suspicions that when Snoke mentioned there had been an awakening, he was talking about Finn, not Rey. I think Rey was a bit of a surprise to them.

That's a possibility but I really doubt that's the case. I think that BantamLover4Life is likely correct and Luke is Rey's father for the numerous reasons given in the following article (http://www.denofgeek.us/movies/star...0-reasons-why-we-already-know-rey-s-backstory). Also, as has been pointed out in several other articles in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens' computer game, Rey is referred to as Rey Skywalker and when Kylo Ren is dueling with Rey he calls her "cousin." I think the more likely mystery of the new Star Wars' triology is; if Luke is Rey's father, then who is her mother? According to a few reports, Mara Jade will be introduced as Rey's mother, but this may just be pure speculation.

I was actually surprised that there was no reference to Mara Jade in episode 7. I wasn't expecting such a big mystery surrounding Rey.
