I'm back needing some advice. I've hatched many round of chicks, but this is my first time with ducklings. The night before last I noticed some pips, one was in the wrong end of the egg. The other 2 hatched fine, but the one pipped on the wrong side still hasnt. It was around 8pm when I noticed it, so it's been like this around 36 hours, but it's still alive. I can see it peeping and it made a hole in the egg. But no further progress. I'm just wondering if I should assist?? Any advice is appreciated, thanks!!

I have never hatched ducks but when my chicks do this and they don't make progress after that length of time I do assist. I do it very slowly and allow time for vessels to clot off. Don't rush it. But after 36 hours it doesn't look like that baby can get out.

Thanks for replying but around 1, I did start zipping a little for the duckling and left it alone. Within the hour, it hatched the rest of the way on its own. So everything worked out, thanks!
