Where should I get my chicks?

I have the buff orpington's not the others sorry certain feed stores might have them but generally they all go through on hatchery or another welp hatchery is ok.. I hear good things about cackle but I'd search out members who may be able to help you out might not all be from the same person but quality will be higher and generally no minimals
 
What state do you live in? Meyer Hatchery ships chicks as few as 3-4 depending on where you live. But the shipping with the heat pack is almost the same as ordering 25 chicks which you can share with others. They stay warmer in larger groups in shipping. Meyer has speckled sussex, BO's, and even most rare breeds. They are located in Polk, Ohio, and are one of the few hatcheries that will let you pick up chicks in person. If you choose to order from a hatchery, I would recommend ordering from the closest one to you, so that the chicks are not in shipping as long. They can get really stressed in shipping. I get mine the next day from Meyer which is only 5 hours from here. Good luck on whatever you decide.
 
I would say get more than 6 chicks because some chicks might die and you wont have any plus if most of them are roosters you aren't getting any eggs.
