Our chickens have been picking out the Rooster Booster (and making a huge mess out of their food!) since we started adding it. I saw a tip to add it to mashed sweet potato but does anyone know how much to add and the best way to give it to them? With the pecking order some of the hens never really get to any of the treats or scraps we give them.

It might be better to use something like Valbazen or Safeguard where you can dose each chicken individually, and know they are getting the right dosage. Those also work better than wormers containing hygromycin B.

If you are feeding crumbles or mash, I could see where this might be a problem. They would very easily sort the pellets out from the rest. If that is the case, try smashing or grinding the rooster booster pellets. Measure them first so they are mixed appropriately. Then stir the smashed bits into the crumbles. OR, measure & mix, and then soak your feed in some water- if your chickens will eat it that way. Try using extra feed pans and spreading them out so your underdogs can get some too.

I have everyone on pellets, and the easiest way for me to feed is to just mix the medicated pellets right in.

If you can't get them to eat it, I reccommend individual dosing with either of the meds listed above.
