He keeps plopping down next to her. These are the prime set of boxes for the chicken hens, but his feathered butt is taking up the spot. Does anyone have experience with this? If I shoo him she runs off also.
**He also forced my welsummer out of the box this morning.she was trying to lay.

Only a few of my Scovy females will use the chicken nest boxes but majority of them lay their eggs in the deep shavings. and my drake will go into her stall and lay with her. Maybe try giving them a nice cozy area off to themselves using some scrap plywood to section off an area just for them lots of soft bedding and move her and her eggs to it. it might have to be out of the chicken coop though to keep her from going back to the original nest box. I don't let my chickens and ducks sleep in the same house. Welcome to BYC @littlenugget
