All of the chickens I have raised always lay small/medium eggs. The only one I have had ever that lays anything decent is my Red Star. I raised her as a chick, gave her away and got her back at a year old. Am I feeding my chickens wrong? They eat dumor layer pellets.

I have a SFH, she is big, and the breed is supposed to lay big eggs, but her eggs are small.
Same with my Welsummer, they are small.

Red Star, Sumatra, Wellie, SFH.

What is an "SFH"?
How old are your girls?
Have you weighed the eggs?
Age and breed will determine the size of your eggs.
For instance, The Red Star is a production sex link so her eggs would be large.
Layer feed with oyster shell offered free choice is generally the standard for feeding layers.

SFH- Swedish Flower Hen
They range from a year to two years. My red star is the oldest at 3 years.

No, I haven't.

Thank you!

Ok! Couldn't place that abreviation! LOL From what I see of pics of Swedish Flower Hens they are lovely hens to have.
Your eggs that you have pictured are beautiful.

It might surprise you once you weigh the eggs as to what category they fall under (sm, med, lg).
The Sumatra if it is the breed I'm thinking of would have very small eggs.

Haha, yes, yes they are. So pretty and have good personality.
Thank you! :)

Ah okay, I'll have to try that, thanks!
