Hello,

I am an artist from Texas and am currently raising chickens in my backyard. I started off with Bantam chickens (7) and now have raised 6 full sized heavy layers (cuckoo maran and two buffs). This is the first year I will be selling my eggs and I couldn't be more excited. I am currently working on making a yard egg for sale sign for my front yard and am having fun drawing on the labels of my cartons but want to design a proper label. I would love to see what other people have made in the way of yard signs for their egg business. I am also looking to purchase some Silver Seabright Bantam hens because I just fell in love with them. Other than that I love messing around with coop designs and figuring the best way to make my coop function its best, its healthiest and of course ways to make the coop look great.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! It sounds like you are really enjoying your chicken adventures. I wish you the very best of luck with your egg sales, I hope they go well. I'm afraid I can't be of help to on the yard sign as I've never made one. I'm sure other members will be along who will be able to help you.

Wishing you the very best in the future. Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

IMO a yard sign shaped like an egg would be the way to go. In this area, folks who sell eggs place a sign out when they have eggs to sell and remove it when they don't have any. And no one really cares if they get the eggs in used, washed cartons :)

Good luck with your egg sales.

IMO a photo of the prettiest hen in the yard would be the ticket to use on your cartons and addd a "catchy" phrase on the photo.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. Which part of Texas are you from? My wife and I were both raised in the great state of Texas. If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is lots of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

Hi and welcome to BYC. I too have just begun selling eggs and also need to develop some kind of logo. Alas, my artistic skills are confined to drawing of stick men :( do let us see what design you settle on!

All the best

I don't have a sign either. My neighbors are the only ones to buy from us and they just ask for a dozen when they need them.

If you put "egg sale signs" in the Search box (upper left, under the logo), you'll see there have been quite a few posts about signs and you can see what others have done. I'd like to see a photo of yours when it's ready.

Have fun, it's nice to have you here!
