My chick isNOT eating

I recently lost one of my buffs last week. I got a new one yesterday, she is 8 weeks old and hasn't eaten anything since yesterday. I have tried wet chicken feed ( I thought pellets might have been to big) , oatmeal, banana bread, and I am now into scrambled eggs. I have put some of each on her beak, but nothing. She is not lethargic, she is peeping and has struggled a couple of times when I picked her up. What do I do?
Any help is appreciated.

Do you have her all alone or with other chicks? How many? How old? Are they older than two months? If so, this one won't eat because of the pecking order prohibiting it.

The trouble with introducing a chick of this age, already nearly grown, is that flock dynamics come into play, and it is treated as an outsider. It also views itself as an outsider.

If you've been trying to feed it in view of the other chicks, it likely will not feel permitted to eat. You need to set up a separate pen well away from the others for a while, letting the chick get used to its surroundings and the rest of the flock without needing to compete in the pecking order.

After age four weeks, it's nearly impossible to mix different aged chicks. And at this age, it's the same as introducing a single adult chicken to the flock. It's a real uphill battle.
 
Please give us more information. Is the chick by herself or with a group of other chicks. What are the ages of the other chicks if you have them with her.
 
she is by herself. I cant put her with my hen she is too little and it has been too cold here lately. I tried to intro the two yesterday but my chick tried to peck her. she came out of a pen of chicks i wrote to the lady i bought her from and she said she would eat when she was hungry. I tried scrambled eggs last night but no luck
 
If she is in a cage or box put a mirror and a stuffed animal with her. Being alone she is probably confused. I would wet some chick starter and put it on a spoon and hold it up to her beak. I've never had a chick turn down mashed boiled egg. Tap it with your finger when you hold it up to her beak. Did you ask the woman you got her from what food she feeds them? Have you checked for pasty butt? She might be to old for that I don't know. Is there anyway you can get another chick from the woman you got this one from? Chickens do best when there is more then one.
 
i will try the mirror and stuffed animal thank you Her stools have been normal and I did contact the lady not much help there. thanks for your advice!
 
Your welcome and I hope that helps. You might also try some frozen corn cook it in the microwave. Chickens love corn and also give her a little grit to go with that. I think once she adjusts to her new house she will eat.
