Does anyone know what this might be?

Hello, i just went to pick up one of our 2 plymouth rocks tonight and felt something on her underbody. I had a look and found something that looks like a scabby type thing that looks much deeper and weirder than a scab.

I know it looks like a scab from the pictures, but does anyone have any idea of what else it might be because if you look at it straight on it doesnt look like a scab. I know the photos arent great but the are all i could get

Wish i could help, but cannot see it clear enough in the photos.   Could you get some one to help you hold her to get a better view of the lesion?

Is it superficial in the skin or is it deeper and on the actual breast bone?

Is it located on her breastbone where she may have rubbed a blister that has scabbed over? Does she roost at night or lie on the floor?

Thankyou very much for the replies, i will try get some better photos today, it was dark last night when i took them, she does roost at night and it is located just to the side of her breastbone(from what i can remember). It just seems too look deeper than the average scab.
