Drake really rough with new female

I want to thank everyone for their input. My ducks have a pond in there pen and a large kiddie pool in the yard, since I let them free range.
I'm going to take the info of putting a couple of the females in with the drake. An rotate them every couple of days. The pen he's in also has a
large tote w/water for swimming and cleaning. Will see what happens.
Let us know how it goes.

Hi,
Well, so far the Drake is doing ok.  I put two females in with him, but he's not attacking them like he was with the injured female.  An the injured female is healing well.  Her feathers are starting to come back. Thank God.

Thanks for posting this thread! The info helped a lot! We have a badly injured female that our big old Drake is just bullying like crazy. Had to clean her up and put her in her own pin last night for a few days. She can see the flock well and has her own food and water. I am glad to know I'm not alone in this struggle!

The drake may be especially rough with that one female out of domination fury - for what reason only he knows. More hate than love. I don't have ducks but, I am thinking he should be replaced.

Breeding on water might have been a bit kinder for her, but, he probably would have just drowned her.
