Hello fellow poultry people!
Been keeping chickens for a couple of years now after the fateful decision to keep 3 chicks that had been hatched in the school room. Three brown hybrids who have been star layers and great characters. Last year I added two more; a lovely, and oddly affectionate, Columbian Blacktail and a little (unusually little) Cream Legbar.
They are all in a covered run, as large as will fit in the yard of a small terraced house. That's all I have room for -which is fortunate as I love them to bits and would aquire maybe too many if I had the space!

I know what you mean about the consequences of having more space and chicken maths - I'd be in a whole heap of trouble if we had more land

Having said that, i did not stop me buying 11 more two month old birds yesterday

Teabag and Betty. Teabag had a lash egg mishap recently followed by a molt but seems well at the moment.

The coop. We did have them roaming the whole garden last winter with a smaller roost but they obliterated everything!
