I have non medicated duck feed. I know you are not suppose to give them medicated chick feed. Is there any type of medication I should be adding? Can you mix a little medicated chick feed in with the duck feed?

The medication in the chick feed to for cocci that poultry can pick up on the ground. What I do with my ducklings, chicks instead of buying medicated feed is go out and cut a piece of ground with dirt and weeds, grass[not treated with chemicals] and put it into the brooder right off, this starts to build their immune system up and gives them a good start once outside. The babies love playing with the ground in their brooder munching and playing on it when they finish with that piece I give them another. If you have non medicated duck ling starter they should have everything they need. You can offer some type of vitamin especially if your getting shipped ducklings like save a chick or poultry nutri drench this will help give them a good boost from the shipping plus if your getting shipped be sure they have a heat pac and gro gel. added to their shipping box It really helps.
