Thank you so much Ch1ckenlover! :) Will look forward to sending you chicks whenever you are ready for them. Hatching chicks every week.

I have been raising this breed since GreenFire started selling them back in 2014. My line is from GreenFire Farms and Feather Lover Farms. Both have excellent quality but my black inner mouths oddly were not from Greenfire Farms. Feather Lover Farms sent me my flock that grew up to have the dark black inner mouths and tongues that are in my photos.

I have been breeding large amounts and culling heavily, "after I raised the chicks the young adults" It's important not to cull as chicks because chicks do not tell you how the adult will look like. Some solid black chicks can still grow up to not be so great of quality. It's important not to cull until young adult age if you truly want to breed and improve your flock properly. A chick does not tell you how black the adult chicken will be. Of course, keep only solid black chicks, but of those solid black chicks, wait until they are older before selecting for qualities like black skin, faces, and black inner mouth's and tongues. I have seen breeders selling Smithsonian line Cemani chicks with the adults having red faces and white ear lobes and the chicks that hatch still seem to be solid black good quality chicks. That's my point on selecting your stock based on how the adults look and not culling until your Cemani reach young adult age.

Looking forward to sending my line out to other breeders interested in helping preserve and improve this breed in America for what they are supposed to look like. :)

Please ask me any questions you have. I am more than happy to help anyone out with any tips.

Thank you,

Cali Farms

Hi Cali!

I've just recently learned about these and they are beautiful! I just got my R-Com Mini in the mail and I was wondering where in Cali you are located. I don't mind the $25 an egg (it's a good price:D) but was hoping maybe I can come pick up if you're near Sacramento since I would only need 1 as I am going to get 2 other breeds also.
