We live on 5 acres in the county of Wetaskiwin, Alberta. I have recently retired and am excited to embark on a new adventure. I hope to purchase 3-5 laying hens in June and can't wait until it's spring and I can start getting our chickens home set up for them.

Hi & :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! I'm sure you will enjoy your new chicken adventures very much :D They are fab to keep, lots of fun and very rewarding too. Have you checked out the learning centre? Lots of great articles there that will help you get started. Here is the link ~https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Wishing you the very best of luck. Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

Great to have you join us here at BYC. I'd say a chicken adventure is a top idea and you are certainly in the right place for help and guidance. I hope you enjoy being a member as much of the rest of us.

All the best

Welcome to Backyard chickens. You may want to join "Canadians, check-in-here." thread to post questions pertaining to your local area. Types of coop that are best for the weather, etc etc.
