We got interested in chickens when my son joined 4h, we started with broiler chickens those of which we have gotten rid of. Got these in November. Can anyone tell me if I am lucky and have any egg layers here. I think two but unsure. We also have some Buff Orpingtons, I will take pictures of those when I get home. Thanks for the help!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I agree with you; it looks to me like you have two pullets (the red and barred bird on the left) and three cockerels. If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is lots of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

Welcome to BYC! Glad you joined the flock! It appear that you may have 3 or 4 hens and 1 rooster. If you can get an closer like photo of the profile of the bird like this.

Welcome to BYC and the coop! There's a lot of great peeps here! Feel free to ask lots of questions. But most of all, make yourself at home. I'm so glad you decided to join the BYC family. I look forward to seeing you around BYC.

I hope you end up with more hens than cockerels. Are you allowed to keep roosters where you are?

Hi and welcome to BYC. All the best with "round 2" of your chicken keeping adventure

Sorry I can't see the photos well enough even with enlarging them. What age are your birds at the time photos were taken? I think you have 3 hens - 2 red and one barred rock. Possibly a second barred rock if I could see them better.

You can also post photos at "what breed or gender is this." Please do list age - it makes a big difference in ID-ing them.
