Hello everyone, I look forward to learning from this site and making some new chicken buddies
My family and I are planning on building our own chicken coop very soon. We've finally decided what our plan will be and are very excited to get started raising our own chickens.
Here are my questions. Can our dog get sick or get worms if he happens to eat the chicken poop? Our coop will be mobile so that we can move it around our yard every so often for the chickens. So once we move Them there will be exposed poop. That's where my dog comes in. I've read different things and some say yes and some say no. Next question, worms. My mom told me that we will get worms from the chickens. I've read about lice, but that seems to not pass from the chicken to the human. I did read a little about the worms but I read it's rare to get them from your chickens. I will admit that hearing this brought my excitement down a few notches. I really look forward to giving our chickens a happy home and getting delicious eggs from them. But I certainly don't want to worry about my kids or dog getting sick Bc of them. Advice would be greatly appreciated from those of you who have experience with this.
Thank you
