So upset with Tractor Supply

I went into tractor supply today to look at their baby chicks for fun, and I noticed one was in the corner being trampled because it couldn't stand. I told an employee and he picked it up in a bag. I knew he was going to suffocate it so I offered to take him home (it looked like his legs were just splayed, which I've fixed before in a call duck) and he said I would have to buy five more chicks because of their limit.
How heartless, I understand that there is a limit to keep them from becoming random Easter gifts and because they're flock animals, but instead of just taking my money and giving the poor thing a chance they tied him in a plastic bag and killed him.
I'm in tears on the way home. I will not be buying anything from TSC again.

Absolutely ridiculous. I haven't witnessed anything that bad. However, I go into our local Rural King about every week and a half on feed runs and the conditions in their brooders are often less than sanitary to say the least. I complain to management regularly. Last year was the worst. Dead chicks in the waterers and scattered on the brooder floor. It's why I like to buy locally and from reputable breeders/hatcheries. People who actually care about their birds and aren't there for the pay check alone. Good for you for trying to give the little guy a chance. These chain stores can be just....awful.

I thought until this moment our local TS did care, but they were just a little lacking in knowledge of care, but last night showed me who they were. So disappointed.
