I'm thinking I have a Marans roo. He jumps at the other two chicks with his feet the way my adult RIR roo does. The three chicks are all three different ages. I got them straight run. I believe this chick is five or six weeks old.

All chicks have spur buds, both male and female. The spurs don't begin to develop until about 6 months old. Some roosters never to grow spurs, and sometimes a hen will grow them.
no, this one is a different chick than the first one I posted. This one is one week older than the first chick and I believe she's a pullet.I don't see anything screaming cockerel, so I would have to agree.
