This is probably a rooster because of the straight barring right? It's about a week old. The other two barred rocks I got have black wings so far, so I'm hoping for some pullets. Funny thing is, I was hoping it was a girl since it just had one defined yellow dot on it's head. Legs aren't too dark or light.

Too soon to tell yet. Once the wings are mostly feathered, then you can start to get a good idea of whether or not a chick has male or female barring. Two stripes on a wing isn't going to tell you much.

I'm thinking pullet. Can we get a shot of the chick's legs and head spot?

If your other birds don't have white coming in, are you positive they're barred Rocks?

Oh, ok. I thought the male's barring came in straight and the female's irregular. This is my first time with barred rocks. I'll post pics of all three and you all can see if you can tell. The other two do have some white on their wings, it's just not as noticeable yet.

The darker overall coloring. males have two barring genes, so they have twice as much white as black. Those two copies also make the legs a clean yellow, one copy like a female has allows the dark coloring to overlay the yellow. The nice tight head spots are also female indicators.
