Hi,
I lost my lovely ex battery hen Plum yesterday, leaving me with just one hen. As I don't think keeping a line hen is a good idea, I collected a new hen last night - a 9 month hybrid who's been free ranging. I put her in the hen house with Myrtle my old hen, the sole survivor. I let them out this morning, giving them the run of the garden, and they're either keeping their distance or fighting.. Both have vaselined combs. I'm keeping watch but at what point do I step in - so far I've separated them but if I left them to it, how far would they go?
