If we are talking button quail, I have read about someone having two pairs in an aviary, though as far as I remember the pairs in question were bonded before being put together. This might be part of the reason why it worked - everyone were happy with their own partners, no need to try to impress anyone by fighting. But if there isn't enough room, there might still be territorial fights. I don't remember the size of the aviary in question.Are quail better kept in pairs?
