Quail always waste lots of food when you use the regular feeder bought from store. I have try several different feeder and I finally found a very easy way to preventing waste food. I put a piece of metal wire on top of the food in the feeder, then I got a perfect feeder not waste any food.

I just want to share my experience and you are welcome to post your quail feeder setup.

Cool thanks for the share. Ours are temporarily on our concrete porch because of potential bad weather and it's the first time I've really realized how much food they waste. Little jerks. We need to do something. If we figure it out well cut our feed by a third at least.
 
I use a small 3lb hanging feeder that I hang about 4 inches off the floor, I have no more wasted feed.
