We have one Speckled Sussex. (Or we think she's one because of her markings.) We were trying to get an Americana- but ended up with her. Wouldn't trade her for any thing else! Sooooo sweet! Her name is Jacque, but I call her Babsie most of the time. She'll come up to the house when our other "ladies" are free ranging, and loves to peck things off my coat. She's also our "bassoon baby," because she can make "deep" clucks or noises. She's also the baby of the flock. LOVE HER!
These pics are all of her. This one with the fancy border is her as a "teen" hen. We put her and a couple of her best friends in a small action figure play castle, and she actually fell asleep!
Note: She doesn't lay as much as they say the Speckled Sussex should lay, and when she does, her eggs are pretty small.
