I recently have tried my first hatching. I have a styrofoam incubator with turner and a good seperate thermometer in incubator. Temps stayed pretty good, fluctuated a bit the first couple days, but bever went higher than 101 or lower than 98 and that was only for very short periods of time and was corrected. Since then it seems like the normal fluctuation was +\- .5 degrees from 95.5. The humidity floated around 35% for first 18 days with the exception of a sharp drop 2 times overnight when the reservoir dried up, I corrected upon noticing in morning. One of those drops happened after I think death occurred. Aside from that, I did handle far more frequently than recommended, not every day, but probably every other, I always tried to have clean hands. My guesses are bacteria from my hands or a dirty turner? Or perhaps over handling? Although I tried to be gentle I'm not sure how susceptible they are to death from light jostling around. Any other thoughts? Any input would be fantastic. I know I shouldn't have handled as much as I did, but it was mostly due to wanting to just capture different stages since it was my first time.

Did you wash the bloom off the eggs prior to incubating? That may have compromised the eggs and left them open to bacteria.

I didn't, and I'm fairly certain the person I purchased them from didn't either. They were purchased, but not shipped. I did not disinfect the turner prior to placing eggs, however it was factory sealed. I suppose it could still have been dirty even if it was from the factor however.
