Hello from Canada!

Hi welcome to BYC, sorry to hear you lost one, but if you send his/her body to a lab they can tell you if it was a disease that will affect your flock, it it was a predator oh well.

Hi and welcome to BYC. It's not uncommon to lose a chick here and there, so don't worry about it too much. You could put vitamin supplements / electrolytes in their drinking water - gives their immune system a boost.

If you check out the Learning Centre, you'll find a whole host of resources on all things chicken.

Your state thread is worth joining as you will get to know other BYC members in your area (https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/270925/find-your-states-thread). In fact, the search box should become your best friend

Lastly but by no means least, the members here are amazing - very friendly and helpful, so if you need an answer to a question or simply want some reassurance that what you are doing is ok, then post away - we all help each other out here at BYC.

All the best
CT

Sorry for your loss, was it a chick or mature bird ? You might be interested in also posting at "Canadians, check-in-here." You may find you have BYCERS living near you.
