Bumpy egg?

My chickens get calcium and everything they need, nutritionally speaking. They do get scratch but only a small handful per day and I have a total of seven chickens all vying for a morsel of that small handful. The chicken that laid this is a year old and has been laying since early last fall. Her eggs have been looking like this for about a month. Any idea why her eggs look like this?

Thank you for the link. It must be her diet although she's the only hen having this issue. I'm going to glean all the resources on here pertaining to property diet and see if there is something I'm giving her, or not giving her, so I can fix the problem. If it continues, I'll have to assume it's something other than nutrition.
 
I feed my chickens Purina Layena with omega. I give them one small handful of scratch in the morning and they always have access to clean waster. Her egg are the only ones affected. She's an EE. She also lays the smallest eggs. Her eggs are the same size as when she laid her first egg. All the other hens' eggs are laying nice large beautiful eggs with nothing wrong with them.
 
Glitch in her shell gland....may not be processing the calcium properly.

When only one bird in a flock has a problem, it's usually that individual birds system......
.....not much you can do unless you want to isolate her and adjust her diet to see if that will help.
 


Okay, so I probably shouldn't incubate any of her eggs then right? I have one of hers in my incubator and this is what it looked like two days ago on day seven. It seems to be developing just fine. I actually asked about this egg, in a different forum last Thursday.

Hard to say if her bumpy egg issue will pass to her offspring or not.
The air cell in that egg look very odd...was is stored and is it incubating with the large end up?
It's certainly developing but wonders if the funky air cell is another anomaly in her system.
Are they all like that? You can candle any of her eggs to see.
 
I only ended up using one of her eggs so I'm not sure. I could always make sure to include one of her eggs in my next hatch. I stored them big end up and I have an automatic egg turner turning the eggs. I check temp and humidity two or three times per day. It'll be interesting to see if another of her eggs does the same thing. When I was collecting eggs for hatching, I was checking the nest boxes three times per day to make sure to store them immediately. I put the egg in a carton in my unheated garage until I was done collecting eggs to incubate.

You can check the air cell by candling any egg...whether you're going to incubate it or not.
See if it's centered on the fat end or on the side.
When fresh they are very small, but will enlarge with age even on the counter top.
