i already have a small flock of 5, (4 hens 1 normal sized roo) we also recently got 9 chicks. 2 of them are miniature bantams, unsexed. i was wondering if my normal roo would fight with a miniature roo (if there turn out to be any) thank you!

Yes. Roosters will try for dominance regardless of size. Growing up together they often find their own pecking order and there may be no problems.

so do you think i should try it and see what the results are, or just not try at all ( because i know what might/will happen if they do fight)

I'd rather be safe than sorry, I would keep both roos apart with their own flocks. The normal sized rooster will certainly injure or kill the bantam - unless the he is a coward.

Sometimes in can get messy. I had two brothers and at 3.5 months they had a heck of a fight that resulted in one eventual fatality. I'm not suggesting it happens all the time, but its a possibility.

They will fight but if they have the right amount of space it shouldn't get to bad. For me my large rooster have at it and injure each other more then a large and bantam roo.
I usually let them fight it out once, and then they are good after that. I will stop the fight if it starts getting bloody though

ok, the main reason i started this tread is because i got 2 unsexed miniature bantams, and they are getting pretty old. none of them have developed any early signs of rooster, so i think I'm on the clear side

. but i will still be on the watch for later signs, and i will keep you all filled in, thanks!!!!!!!

I have a bantam and normal size roo and yes they will fight. My two didnt grow up together and bantam is older so when the reg size roo came of age there was some fighting and once i did have to intervene. They have worked out pecking order and there are enough hens for each of them. Good luck

will the number of hens stop or help fighting? because once all of my chicks come of age, i will have 14 chickens in all
