Hello all. I'm new to the chicken world but have looked at this site for the last month and finally decided to join. I've learned a lot already and hope to learn more from the experts here on the site.

If you haven't already checked it out, the Learning Center is a good place to start...it's full of helpful articles on all sorts of poultry topics.

Thanks for joining us, it's nice to have you here!

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Many of us were lurkers before joining, me included! Do you have chickens at the moment or are you going to be getting started soon. As NorthFLChick said the learning centre has lots of fab articles that will really help you out.

Good luck and be sure to ask any questions. Everyone here to help you along the way.

Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

Hi and welcome to BYC.

Joining your state thread will put you in contact with other BYC members in your area, which can be very helpful.

The members here are amazing - very friendly and helpful, so if you need an answer to a question or simply want some reassurance that what you are doing is ok, then post away - we all help each other out here at BYC.

All the best

I do have 7 chicks that are currently in the brooder. I had 8 but lost one this morning after my first experience with pasty butt. I love the site so far and actually patterned my coop after one I saw on here. Hope they don't mind. My chicks are Golden comets, barred rock, and brown Leghorns.
