I have read about this happening but can't seem to find a good picture online. Will he be okay?

You can't tell much from the pic. In that pic it looks more like cord still attached than anything else. If it's just cord, then he should be fine. But, it's too hard to tell for sure.
Now I agree with funky, looks more like the last little bit of yolk and the membrane around the yolk. Once the yolk is completely absorbed it will most likely leave a little ball of membrane that should dry up and fall off in a few days.

I had one last year, I put a damp paper towel in a coffee mug, set the chick in the mug set the mug under the brooder light, (I couldn't leave it in the bator or I would have). In 24 hours the yolk had absorbed and a couple days after that the membrane dried up and fell off at a touch.
Best of luck to him. Usually that small they absorb it fine and perk right up as long as there isn't anything internally going on that you just can't see. I hope he does as well as I think he will.Such a relief! Thank you!
