My husband and I found a couple of abandoned Muscovy duck eggs. First off,a month has passed and the eggs still have not hatched and when I candled them one seemed to have dark black spots inside. Is there still hope for these little guys? :(

Hi and welcome to BYC - I know nothing about ducks, unfortunately, but I'd imagine that after a month they are no longer viable (thats a guess, not a statement of fact). Maybe some duck members can help you out.

It sounds like the embryos died. That could be why the mother abandoned them / or the cause of their death. You could post on the Duck thread and ask professionals.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Muscovy can take up to 37 days to hatch. Do you have any idea how long they were incubated for before you found them? How long they were unattended before you got them in an incubator?
Here is an article on Muscovy that you may find helpful ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/incubating-and-hatching-muscovy-eggs

Wishing you the very best of luck :fl
