Local TSC vs. McMurray's? A question I should have asked YESTERDAY! - Page 2

Thanks so much for all of the great replies.  Really appreciate all of the helpful information.  We are still figuring out our housing plans, so it probably works better for us to wait for two more weeks anyway.  But, like is often the case, sounds like there is no one single correct answer.  Of course, who knows what will happen.  I can see us going back to TSC for more supplies and getting lured into an early purchase!  Particularly if they have some americauna pullets!

Thanks again - you guys are great!

Keep in mind, those "Ameraucana" are going to be Easter Eggers, not true Ameraucana.

Thanks for clarifying.  I don't think we are particularly picky - it'd be nice to have some different egg colors if it works out that way, but it's good to know!

I'm ordering from MMM for the first time too, but as I look out the window at the snow falling and the wind howling I realize why I am waiting until May for my delivery.  Our local TSC is an hour and a half away - down south.  their chick season starts much earlier than ours. The last time I went to our TSC in May their stock was so mixed up that you couldn't tell what you were selecting. Here they keep all the chicks in stock tank brooders.  I watched one family ask to look at one chick at a time before deciding on a few and by that point in the game I don't think the employees care which tank the rejected chick ends up. So, I'll spend the extra $ any day for a BETTER chance at getting what I want in my flock.Waiting is hard though:cool:
