I've read that baby chicks sometimes eat their pine shaving bedding.
Should I make grit available from the start or can I use a fleece blanket to cushion their feet under paper towel ?
I know the fleece blanket sounds weird, but it seems like it would be a good alternative. I have several small fleece blankets that could be washed regularly.
